“In Full Bloom: Trusting God in Your Season of Becoming”
Featured April Devotional Blog
Scripture Focus (NIV):
“See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come.” — Song of Songs 2:11–12
“He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.” — Matthew 28:6
A Season That Doesn’t Look Like Much… Yet
There is a quiet kind of work God does in us that doesn’t make headlines.
It happens beneath the surface—
In the waiting,
In the stretching,
In the pruning seasons where nothing seems to be blooming.
April reminds us of a sacred truth: what looks like an ending is often the beginning of something alive.
The earth itself testifies.
Bare branches begin to whisper green.
Closed buds slowly gather courage to open.
And suddenly—almost unexpectedly—everything begins to bloom.
But here’s the truth most don’t say out loud:
Blooming is not instant. It is a process.
And so is becoming.
The Resurrection: Proof That New Life Comes After Death
At the center of our faith stands a garden, an empty tomb, and a promise fulfilled.
Jesus didn’t skip the cross to get to the resurrection.
He endured it.
There was a Friday that looked like loss.
A Saturday that felt silent.
And then—Sunday came.
Resurrection is God’s signature move.
He specializes in bringing life out of what looked finished.
Hope out of what felt buried.
Purpose out of what felt painful.
If you are in a season that feels like “Friday” or “Saturday,” hear this clearly:
God is still working.
Your story is not over.
Becoming Before Blooming
We often celebrate the bloom—
the answered prayer,
the breakthrough,
the visible evidence that God has moved.
But God is just as intentional in the becoming.
Becoming is where roots grow deep.
Where character is refined.
Where faith learns to stand without visible proof.
A flower does not question the soil.
It trusts the process.
And you must too.
Because what God is growing in you will sustain what He is preparing for you.
Trusting God in the In-Between
The hardest place to live is the in-between—
Not where you were,
Not yet where you’re going.
It’s uncomfortable.
Uncertain.
Sometimes lonely.
But it is also holy ground.
Because in the in-between:
God develops your endurance
He strengthens your identity
He deepens your dependence on Him
Nothing is wasted.
Not the delays.
Not the detours.
Not even the disappointments.
If God allowed it, He intends to use it.
Signs You Are in a Season of Becoming
If you’ve been wondering whether you’re in a “becoming” season, here are a few quiet indicators:
You feel stretched but not broken
Old habits and mindsets are being challenged
You’re craving deeper meaning, not just surface success
God feels quiet, but your faith is growing anyway
You sense change coming, even if you can’t see it yet
This is not stagnation.
This is preparation.
In Full Bloom—Right on Time
Flowers don’t rush.
They don’t compare.
They don’t bloom out of season trying to keep up with another garden.
They bloom when it’s time.
And so will you.
God is not late.
He is intentional.
The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in your life—
reviving,
restoring,
and renewing you from the inside out.
Your bloom is coming.
And when it does, it will be undeniable.
Prayer for April
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me that even when I cannot see growth, You are still working beneath the surface.
Help me trust You in my season of becoming. When I feel uncertain, anchor me in Your promises. When I feel impatient, teach me to wait with faith.
Thank You for the resurrection power that brings life to every dry place in my heart. Renew me, strengthen me, and prepare me for what You have ahead.
Let my life bloom in Your perfect timing—not for my glory, but for Yours.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Heart Posture
Where in my life do I feel like I’m still “becoming” instead of blooming?
Am I trusting God’s timing, or trying to rush the process?
What has God already been growing in me that I haven’t acknowledged?
A Legacy of Faith: A Lily in the Valley
There is something sacred about the songs that shape our faith.
My grandmother’s favorite song was “Lily in the Valley.” She didn’t just sing it—she lived it. She believed with quiet certainty that Jesus is our everything… our joy, our peace, our hope—even in the valley.
She would hold onto the truth that He is “bright as the morning star,” a light that never fades, no matter how dark the season.
That kind of faith doesn’t come from easy days.
It comes from walking through valleys and still choosing to trust God.
Her life was a testimony: that even in low places, God provides what we need.
Joy in the valley.
Peace in the valley.
Hope in the valley.
And just like the resurrection reminds us—
we don’t stay in the valley forever.
We come out.
Still Reflection
April is not just about flowers.
It is about resurrection.
It is about hope rising again.
It is about trusting that what God planted in you—
He will bring to life.
So stand firm.
Stay rooted.
And trust the One who makes all things new.
You are not behind.
You are becoming.
And soon… you will be in full bloom.
