Week 4: Stewardship, Not Shame

Learning how to live well

Living with hypothyroidism eventually teaches a hard but holy lesson: the body cannot be bullied into healing.

Management is not about perfection or constant optimization. It’s about listening, responding, and adjusting with wisdom. This is where awareness matures into stewardship — and where shame has no place.

Living with hypothyroidism means:

  • Being consistent with medication

  • Monitoring labs and advocating for yourself

  • Respecting rest instead of fighting it

  • Nourishing the body with intention

  • Managing stress as a medical necessity, not a luxury

I’ve learned that caring for my body is a form of reverence. It’s not about fixing what’s “wrong.” It’s about honoring what is.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?” — 1 Corinthians 6:19

Temples require upkeep.

Closing Reflection

If this story sounds like you — unexplained anxiety, weight changes, fatigue, brain fog, hair thinning, cold sensitivity — please hear this clearly:

You are not imagining it. You are not lazy. You are not weak.

Ask questions. Get tested. Listen to your body.

Awareness saves years.

This series is educational and personal, not medical advice. Always consult your healthcare provider for diagnosis and treatment.
